About Us
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. That means you or someone you know will most likely be affected by this cancer – but, with your help, we are hoping to change all that. The dedicated professionals at St. Patrick Hospital & Health Sciences Center along with the Missoulian, KPAX, and the University of Montana have joined forces to Team Up Montana in the fight against breast cancer.
Team Up Montana is a dedicated effort to raise awareness and funding for the fight against cancer in Montana. This year the team will focus specifically on breast cancer awareness, prevention and treatment resources. All donations gathered through www.teamupmontana.com will go into the Cancer Compassion Fund managed by the St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation. This fund specifically helps those Montanans in need of financial support in their fight against cancer.
Every dollar donated to the Saint Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation through this website will be dedicated to breast cancer treatment and programs here in Western Montana. Our goal is to raise funds locally through this website, Team Up Montana Events, local businesses and the people of Western Montana. These funds are redistributed soley in Western Montana through prevention and detection programs and to assist those suffering from this disease.
The members of Team Up Montana have developed the website, www.teamupmontana.com, as a source of information and action in the fight against breast cancer.
Last year alone St. Patrick Hospital performed over 11,000 mammograms and treated 180 breast cancer patients. Donations raised from 2009 Team Up Montana events allowed St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation to provide $10,000 in the form of screening mammograms vouchers. Vouchers cover the entire cost of screening mammograms for uninsured or underinsured woman.
